Flucloxacillin is an isoxazolyl penicillin of the ß-lactam group of antibiotics which exerts a bactericidal effect upon many Gram-positive organisms including B-lactamase-producing staphylococci and streptococci. It is not active against methicillin-resistant staphylococci.
